Tervra is developing a business account for UK B2B businesses using their own funds, with payment understanding and supporting evidence alongside it. Accounts, cards and payments are not available today.

Applications, assessed amounts, staged payments and retention can leave several different figures against the same job. A receipt alone may not explain which agreement or stage it covers.

The context worth keeping

Bring together the application, the agreed terms, any assessment or deduction statement and the payment record. Keep an unexplained difference open until supporting evidence is available.

A staged payment arrives.

A fictional contractor expects £12,000 for a stage of work and receives £10,800. Start with the agreed stage, the relevant assessment and the payment record. If retention or another deduction is cited, keep its contractual support with the explanation. Do not assume that the shortfall has a particular cause.

The questions worth exploring.

Which documents establish the amount due? Who reviews deductions, and where is an unresolved difference followed up?
